What To Expect: Your Night at The Lincoln Cheyenne
Attending an event at The Lincoln offers a distinctive entertainment experience that combines the charm of a historic theater with the energy of a modern concert venue. Understanding what to expect helps visitors make the most of their time at this downtown Cheyenne venue.
The Arrival and Entry Process
The Lincoln typically opens its doors approximately one hour before show time. Upon arrival, attendees line up on the south side of the venue where staff members conduct security checks, including metal detection.
The venue has a clear bag policy with restrictions on size, and prohibits outside food and drinks. Once inside, guests enter a lobby area featuring a merchandise booth, ATM, and water filling station for empty bottles.
The Performance Experience
The experience of live music at The Lincoln achieves a unique balance between intimacy and energy. The venue’s architecture creates excellent acoustics, with sound quality that remains consistent throughout the space. Lighting systems blend modern concert capabilities with the theater’s historical character, enhancing performances across various genres.
Layout and Navigation
The Lincoln’s multi-level design offers different vantage points for enjoying performances. Each area provides a distinct way to experience shows, catering to different preferences:
- Main floor: Standing-room only area closest to the stage, offering the most immersive concert experience with direct access to the main bar; best for those who prefer to dance or be near the action
- Lower balcony: Tiered concrete stadium-style space providing elevated views of the stage with flexibility to either stand or sit; ideal for those wanting a good view with more space
- Upper balcony: Features original historic theater seating, offering the most comfortable seated experience with excellent sightlines to the stage; perfect for those preferring to enjoy shows while seated
Facilities and Services
Restroom facilities are located on the basement level, with the women’s restroom accessible via stairs to the left of the merch booth and the men’s restroom located down the stairs near the emergency exit doors. While the historic Lincoln theater doesn’t offer a formal coat check service, a self-service coat rack is available for use at patrons’ own risk.
The venue maintains two bars with different offerings. The main floor bar provides a full selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, while the balcony bar offers a more limited selection of canned drinks. Various snacks are available for purchase, though many attendees choose to dine at nearby restaurants before or after shows.
Note: Seating configurations for particular events may change. Always check the individual The Lincoln seating chart when choosing your tickets. Ticket prices may also vary due to the type of event, performer, seat location or VIP experiences etc.
